The Challenge

iNET were not the existing provider of WiFi infrastructure at Jockey Plaza and nor did they provide connectivity. The opportunity would be competitive and Social WiFi received approaches from numerous businesses looking to include our services in their response to the offer.

Jockey Plaza had already tested the Social WiFi service internally and informed us that the service was the one they wanted, but we had to work through the Integration vendor that they would choose.

For Social WiFi, this meant that we would have to be able to work with various hardware vendors too as the bidding companies would be proposing their preferred choices. Thankfully, our existing range of over 15 enterprise integrations was complete to cover all proposed solutions.

For iNET, they would have to test our service and become trained on it, before being able to recommend and implement it as part of their RFP response.

The Solution

iNET proposed to the shopping mall a new network of Ruckus Access Points and supporting infrastructure. This worked well for Social WiFi due to the existing integrations with ZoneDirector, VSZ and Unleashed. We were confident that there would be no installation problems due to the volume of other setups implemented across these ecosystems.

Furthermore, we were confident that long term, there would be no reliability issues due to iNET's competence on this vendor (they are Big Dog partners) and the robustness of Ruckus hardware.

We decided the best way to collaborate would be for Social WiFi to participate in meetings with the shopping mall marketing department and not with the IT departments. This helped iNET focus on what they are best at, IT integration, and not have to learn an unrelated marketing service.

The Results

In the end, Jockey Plaza chose iNet as their ISP and they chose to implement a network of Ruckus Access Points. Because Social WiFi has integrations with all Ruckus ecosystems, the rollout was cloud managed and completed in less than 45 minutes, including testing.

iNET completed all other installation work over a longer period, but the Social WiFi configuation was a breeze once ready. We collaborated to deploy 220 Access Points across 14 zones to enable the mall to build unique databases for separate areas of the mall.

As a result of the success of the first client, iNET and Social WiFi signed as partners and now work together to bring WiFi Marketing to more businesses in the iNET client portfolio. iNET benefit from buying licences from Social WiFi at reseller rates and selling on to their clients with margin.

Social WiFi is an excellent tool for reinforcing marketing activities at the at the very end of the marketing funnel, for example, at the stage of returning the message with an advertising message to guests who have previously visited our mall. The implementation of Social WiFi at Jockey Plaza has resulted in the acquisition of even more e-mail addresses from our guests, which accelerates the development of the network. Guests, which accelerates the development of our email marketing activities. In turn the ability to add tracking codes to the login page allows us to retarget users using the mall's WiFi. Not only can we display ads to people who have previously visited our hotel, but also create lists of similar people and target adverts to audiences with a similar profile. profile. This is an excellent complement to our Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns.
